Rice Paper Rolls – September Short Projects

Rice paper rollsI thought I would squeeze in one last September Short Project before the month is over! I have really enjoyed doing these short posts (although some of them haven’t been that short!), and I think I will incorporate the idea into my regular posts a bit more.

Now, this post needs a disclaimer: don’t bother reading on if you are in any way already acquainted with Asian food. It would be like learning about engineering from a kid playing with lego. I’m a complete novice. Continue reading

Re-Planting a Passionfruit – September Short Projects

PassionfruitSo, remember about a month ago when I did this:

Yeah, that was a fail. I was keeping an eagle eye on my passionfruit to see whether it would settle in it’s spot, and it didn’t. I suspect the reason is because it was too low to the ground to get enough sun. I noticed its new leaves starting to wilt a little, and thought I had better move it sooner rather than later.

Holly Golightly Inspired Sleep Mask – September Short Projects

Holly Golightly Inspired Sleep MaskIf I could find a real-life place that’d make me feel like Tiffany’s, then – then I’d buy some furniture and give the cat a name!

I’ve never met an Audrey Hepburn film I didn’t love, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s is one of the best (although Sabrina will always be my personal favourite!). Today’s September Short Project is inspired by the inimitable Holly Golightly, and her classic glamour sleep mask. Because, really, why shouldn’t you be glamourous in your sleep? Continue reading

The Power of Positive Thinking – September Short Projects

The Power of Positive ThinkingI’m a great believer in the power of positive thinking, but unfortunately not so great at practicing it. As part of my campaign to be more positive, I decided to start a Book of Positivity. I keep it at my desk at work, and write down positive thoughts, affirmations and quotes as they occur to me. Then, when I’m having a crappy day, I look back, and feel better! Plus it provides a nice creative outlet when I’m stressed at work! Continue reading

Tough Mudder!

Tough MudderSorry for my short absence everyone, I have been away for a few days completing my first Tough Mudder! For those of you who haven’t heard of Tough Mudder, it’s a marathon/obstacle course designed by the British Special Forces. It’s 20km long and undertaken in teams usually, with obstacles such as jumping from heights, crawling through muddy tunnels and being electrocuted. Continue reading

Cake Balls – September Short Projects

cake balls

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today’s September Short Project is a yummy delight – Cake Balls! If you’re an Aussie like me, you may never have encountered these delicious treats, but Americans are probably familiar with them. I had cake balls for the first time when we went to stay with our lovely friends Bob and Linda in Texas – Linda had ordered a whole range of flavours and we LOVED them. I had a real craving last week, so I thought I would try them out myself. Continue reading
