2015, what a year!

Hellooooooo! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and all of that <3.

I have just gone back to work after a few weeks of cherished relaxation, and I’m looking forward to sharing what I got up to with you guys now that the craziness of Christmas is over.

But before we get into the swing of 2016 too much, I wanted to take a moment to say a huge THANK YOU to you guys, my wonderful, inspiring, encouraging readers, for making 2015 my BEST year of blogging. Knowing that so many of you, from all over the world, enjoy reading about my escapades brings me so much joy. Like, don’t get me wrong, I might still be blogging even if no one was reading, but it would be super depressing. Thank you for making this blog one of my favourite things in the world, and for making me feel like I make a difference <3.

Your favourite posts in 2015 (and thank you so much for this, btw!!!) were the ones I wrote about my wedding. On the way to the wedding, Before the big day and The morning of were huge, but For the rest of my life literally smashed all my previous records, which was so cool. To know that so many of you enjoyed reading about this day, this amazing day that I had been planning for sooooo long and looking forward to sooooo much was just awesome. All the more so because I was so excited to share it with you!

There were also a number of ‘enduring faves’ from previous years that remained popular in 2015. Christmas was big: my Salt Dough Christmas Ornaments got a whole bunch of views thanks to Pinterest, as did my DIY Clothes Peg Snowflakes.

Big DIY projects such as the DIY Crackle Paint Cabinet Makeover, the Hanging Herb Garden and the Chalkboard Feature Wall also stayed close to the top. I’ve recently taken that chalkboard feature wall down, by the way, and it came off without a mark, which I was pretty stoked about. Masking tape, amiright??

Opinion pieces (a.k.a. me running my mouth off about important and serious topics) were happily among the favourites, or at least among the most read. Ten Ways to have a Feminist Wedding got a bunch of hits, as did On Victim Blaming in the Media. In all seriousness, this means so much to me. It makes a huge impact on me to know that you guys are interested in this sort of stuff.

Finally, I’d like to share with you MY favourites from this year – maybe not the most popular, but the most meaningful and/or enjoyable to me.

I LOVE this recipe for Moroccan fish with almond couscous (seriously, I make it all the time).

I am super proud of these free card printables, because they represented a bunch of new skills for me :).

I had an absolute blast collaborating with Emory from Hello Scarlett on my home tour, plus it forced me to give my house a good deep clean ;).

I celebrated my first proper commission with these paper bridesmaid bouquets – nice to make a bit of cash whilst doing what I love!!

And last, but definitely not least, I love this post about my dear cat, Lara, who passed away in 2015. I still can’t read it without crying, but I love looking at the photos and remembering her.

So that was 2015 on I can do that! It was a year with lots of laughs, lots of organising, lots of crafting, and lots of weddings – here’s to 2016 being even better :).

:D What a full year of everything! Congratulations on maintaining this wonderful blog and thanks for all the posts. I just realized I missed the one about the bridal bouquet somehow and it makes me sad so I’m going to read it right now. 2015 was a pretty awesome year, i look froward to seeing what 2016 has in stall! :D
