Scrappy fabric cat bows

Due to my well-known status as an inveterate cat lady (or barren baby-hating witch* to my friends), I like to expend my excess maternal energy on my cats (which they just love, let me tell you).

*Note: I don’t actually hate babies. I actually quite like them when they belong to someone else, and have even been known to call one cute (shh don’t tell anyone). I can’t refute the witch thing though.

Love Knots

In the months leading up to Christmas, I got a bit obsessed with embroidery. It started when I bought some shiny new boxes to organise all my embroidery floss (I was an avid crosstitcher for many years so I have ALOT). Cooking with Walter White

Don’t worry – this post isn’t about how my #icandeclutter challenge has led me to a life of drugs (yet). No, the challenge grinds on, days after it should have ended, because I have realised that it takes a lot longer to sort and pack mountains of junk than I expected. Or maybe I just accumulated more junk that I expected. Either way, the first three loads have left the house, and there are only about 40 to go! I will update you all (hopefully soon) when the challenge is finito.

In the meantime, I wanted to share this piece that I stitched up last week.

Totally Trendy Crochet Bunting (Part 2)

Bunting2 frontLast week I showed you the crochet bunting I whipped up for Mario and my engagement party (although I plan to use it for many more things in future!). Today, I wanted to show you how I finished off the bunting with crochet letters!

I wanted to spell out our names along the bunting, but never having made crochet letters before, I wasn’t sure if it would be beyond my skill level. Luckily, I found an awesome (and free) set of instructions for the whole alphabet over at Moogly. Continue reading
